Board Nominations Now Open

A strong Board is crucial for the successful operation of our Association. This is your chance to be actively involved as a Board Member in shaping the strategic direction of YOUR Association and contributing to growing our strong leadership voice in representing the interests of all SA public school leaders to Government and the Department.

Being a Board Member will give you an excellent insight into the operations of the Association, the Department and the big strategic issues facing school leaders. Your knowledge and skills will help shape the future of our Association! Being on a Board is a great learning opportunity and will be a valuable addition to your resume in demonstrating leadership and commitment in your profession.

Four SASSLA Board Members finish their two year tenure at next year’s AGM in April 2024. Nominations for these positions opened today and close on Friday 8 December 2024 at 12.00noon. Tenures are for two years and run from the 2024 AGM until the 2026 AGM. Four Board members are elected one year and five the next to ensure continuity of the Board.

All SASSLA members received an email from the Australian Election Company today which included the Notice of Election and Nomination Form. Instructions are included and nominees will require endorsement by two current SASSLA members. If you need assistance or require more information please contact Leanne on 0412 654 817. As a Board Member, you will be required to attend Board Meetings from 3.00pm to 4.00pm on a Thursday in weeks three and seven of each term (two of these meetings are named strategic meetings and run from 1.00pm to 4.00pm in term 1 and term 3). You can either attend in person at our Edwardstown office or use our video conferencing facilities. We have an agreement with the Department that you can attend SASSLA meetings within your normal working hours and do not require to take leave.
